Our History

Federal Moving & Storage was founded in 2011 by Michael Coleman in Beaumont, TX. The company started with one truck and two employees. Initial services included local residential moves and basic loading.

Key Milestones

2011: Start of Operations
In the first year, Federal Moving & Storage completed 43 moves. Clients were mostly individuals relocating between houses and apartments. The service area was limited to Beaumont, TX.
2013: Equipment and Team Expansion
By 2013, the fleet grew to two trucks. The team increased to five movers. The company added office and small commercial moves. Insurance for client belongings was introduced. Federal Moving & Storage completed its first interstate relocation.
2015: New Services
In 2015, Federal Moving & Storage added services for piano, pool table, and shed moves. We introduced short-term moving and storage options and labor-only services. Equipment delivery for cheap boxes began.
2017: Student and Senior Focus
In 2017, we launched fixed-rate moving services for student housing and senior living communities. The company introduced smaller crew options and apartment-focused scheduling.
2018: Software and Booking Tools
In 2018, Federal Moving & Storage implemented online scheduling, job tracking, and a CRM system. The “Insurance movers” tier was formalized. Customers could now book moves online and request digital quotes.
Services expanded to include long distance jobs and small-scale machinery relocations.
2020: Health Protocol Implementation
In 2020, Federal Moving & Storage added contactless estimates, daily truck sanitization, and PPE for all crew members. Emergency last minute services were prioritized for hospitals and closed business locations.
2022: Service Tier Expansion
In 2022, we introduced white glove moving for high-value items. Crew certification training was updated. Equipment upgrades allowed handling of jacuzzi, boat, and oversized furniture.
